Blues and Greens and Water Scenes

Paige is a lover of blue and green. She was delighted to find a Monet print umbrella at the Denver Art Museum gift store in those hues. To add to her joy, her Aunt Lisa sent her a matching bag that is just the perfect size for her music books (thanks, Lisa!).

Paige is thrilled with the colors in her bag and umbrella
So the girls and I are going to branch out into a Waldorf venture. We decided to decorate our "main lesson binders" with gift wrap (because if it's Waldorf, it has to be pretty.) Daniel is working with Craig and probably won't have time to join us at the moment. Anyhow, Laura, Emma, and I (yes, I'm going to be a Waldorf student too) had no trouble finding gift wrap we liked. Paige, however,  couldn't find anything blue and/or green that appealed to her. While the girls were at film acting this morning, I found a "prismatic paper pack" in blue-green with a 3D wave pattern!!! She loved it!

Paige and I have been enjoying detective fiction by local author, Kathy Brandt . Well, sort of local -- she divides her time between the Colorado Rockies and the British Virgin Islands , where she sails and scuba dives with her marine biologist husband. Her heroine, Hannah Sampson, is a scuba diving homicide detective in the BVI, where she lives on a sailboat with her dog and a cat that she rescues. 'Lots of beautiful descriptions of the islands, underwater scenery (now we want to dive there!) and references to environmental issues -- very appealing to Paige, who talks about studying oceanography or marine biology.

Paige plans to redecorate her room in blues and greens and in a sea theme. I'll post pictures when it's complete (we're still at the paint selecting phase.)
